Flowing Stream

Here I sit in a bookstore cafe',
Eye on color splashed shelves.
I walk over and peruse books.
Page after page pass my eyes.
Yet, my yearn to learn is limp.
Ah, books muster no interest.
I'm too full to hold more input.
My heart passions for output.
She wants to create a beauty.
So, I write this poem for you.
In any event, output has input,
But input alone has no output.
It's sad, lonely - uncared for,
Festering like a stagnant pond.
Isn't it better to be a stream,
Giving live waters to an ocean,
Whose source is truly assured,
By the mountainous waterfalls?

Life's Tapestry

I am a thread woven into the vast tapestry of life.
Each of my strands has her own beautiful color,
Dressing me in striking beauty and color bursts.
Yet, as dazzling as my colors are on their own,
Their real beauty is not in their own uniqueness,
But, in how they fit with the rest of life's tapestry.

Wielding the Torch !

There have been those whose pain and suffering became their rocket fuel,
Catapulting them to the heights of contribution, kindness and philanthropy.
Sadly, there were also others who were crushed and paralyzed by their pain.
However, this might be because they did not know how to deal with the pain.
Maybe, pain is like a torch, to light up the way. Those who wield it see a path.
Those who try to suppress it and smother it by sitting on it, just get burned.

Making a Saint

If you want to turn a miser into a saint,

Share with him a very shocking secret,

Giving’s more pleasurable than receiving.

Tree Within

Just like you have an "inner child",
You have a developing "inner tree".

How do you identify an "inner tree"?
As an inner force seeking expansion,
branching out beyond your confines.

On Tu B'Shvat pray for all trees,
Including for your own "inner tree",
And as a kindness everyone else's.

Inner Tree

Let's discover our "inner tree".
Let's touch his core character.
Let's feel his passion to grow.
Growth comes in many flavors:
Birth, development n' maturity.
Our "inner tree" fills our being,
He's interwoven throughout us.
From the pulse of his desires,
Our body-heart-minds expand.
From his raging fires of desire,
Our souls reach for new heights.
Playfully, growth, grows n' grows,
Birthing fruits, fresh beginnings.

Soul Mates

If you want to know whom to marry,
Find the person you wish to become;
With whom you wish to blend selves.

Don't expect deep feel romantic highs,
A spiritual high is a better indicator,
Of finally encountering the soul-mate.

Meeting a lost part of self is sacred.
Imagine meeting your spiritual guide,
Or stepping into a temple's ambiance.

There, you'd leave lower self behind.
This too is an encounter of the soul,
Calling for the same deep reverence.

O Laughs

         O

A huge O emblazons a canvas.

"Who are you?" a viewer muses.

"Are you bright sun or full moon,
An orbit of planets or electrons,
The cycle of life or four seasons?"

O laughs heartily from beyond.
“I'm not them. Yet, they're all me."

Silky Blossoms

In early spring, morning weather allures.
Gentle breeze wafts over a lush garden.
Everywhere, a delightful scent of pine.

Stream dappled with flashes of sunlight,
Lulling a mantra with her flowing waters.
Japanese cherry tree offers ample shade.

Her delicate silky blossoms are blooming,
Decorating her full of pink cotton puffs.
A Meditator basks serenely in her shade.

S/he notices how "gentleness" nurtures:

How soft weather beckons out blossoms,
Tender treats, birthed from hard wood.

How tender feelings nurture our hearts,
Blossoming a delicate inner guiding voice,
Sounding her clearest in the gentle calm.
