Self Love

--------------------
Tanya teaches ...
That since the Creator contains all,
He knows all, simply by knowing Himself.
Then it is probably also true that ...
He Loves all, simply by Loving Himself.

Choni Elchonon Kihleel: Very true. The reason I pointed this out is because some people tend to get caught up in the notion G-d as a kind of Universal Mind and lose sight that in real seamless Oneness a Being whose the Universal Mind is also the Universal Heart - Loving all :)

Elka: given that God is One and there is nothing but God, there are no "some people" vs "others"... it's all US :) so when we trust in that whole love process, it's just a matter of channeling that love... accepting all as is... AND when we do get caught up in the Universal Mind, we always have a good point of reference - our heart, our soul, our being ♥

Choni Elchonon Kihleel: True, looking within offers great reference points since everything within is continuous with what's beyond. :)

Elka : just sharing... when i meditate, part of what i say is "i love Hashem with all my heart, with all my soul, with all my being"... and visualize a complete alignment of expanding light (within)... ♥

Choni Elchonon Kihleel: Nice :) I'm usually still too absorbed in the Oneness just I meditated over in the first verse of Shema to focus on anything else at that point. I'm still vibrating and reverberating with it. Maybe, I should really allow time to come down from that experience before saying "V'Ahavta ... ".

Elka: well, the way to "come down" is by seeing/imagining the light (within) go into the ground through your feet... to experience the completeness of Redemption we must fly while being grounded :)

Choni Elchonon Kihleel: This reminds me of a time while reciting Shema and I felt both beyond my body and within my body at once. I need to catch some zzzzzzzzzzzzzz's. So I'll try your advice now with the bedtime Shema.

  2. I discovered what works best for me with V'Ahavtah, is simply to continue the contemplation of Oneness into the situation of loving the Whole that I am one with, i.e. the Alter Rebbe's explanation in Tanya of "my soul calls out to You in the night".
