Choni: I am aware that the Lubavitcher Rebbe did not like the word "kiruv". He felt that who can say whom God considers to be "closer"; especially, when we're dealing in an era when so many are innocently uneducated about the basics of Judaism.
However, I am only talking here about doing "kiruv" on myself. I do not think that the Lubavitcher Rebbe would find this particular usage of the word objectionable.
